How to set up business merchant account with Paypal
Step by Step Instruction in getting Paypal merchant account and set it up on your site.
1. Register at Paypal
1) Apply a Paypal account at following url
https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_registration-run
2) Choose Business Account
3) Follow the wizard to sign up. In Select Product dropdown list, pick: Website Payments Standard
4) After registration approved, login to your Paypal account.
5) Get Verified with a Bank Account (3-5 days)
2. Configure Paypal Profile
6) Enabling Payment Data Transfer
Click "My Account" tab, then click Profile subtab under.
Then click Website Payment Preferences link
Select Payment Data Transfer On radion button.
Add Return URL:
http://www.fpgaxperts.com/online-checkout
Save. After saving, you should get an Identity Token.
3. Configure Simple Cart Item product on your website
Login, go to "Site Setup" on top right, click "Simple Cart Item Configuration"
Enter your Accound Id of Paypal (which is the email address you use to login to Paypal)
Save
Go to website Paypal (/online-checkout/) folder.
Change Cancel page and Thank you page content and save.
4. Test and Verify
Add a 1$ cart item \ to your site. (you will spend 33cents for the test)
Use other people's Credit Card to pay via Paypal Checkout button. (Paypal does not allow you pay yourself with same Paypal account, unless u have 2 accounts)
After u click the button, it sends you to Paypal site with your merchant account name appear at top of the page.
Proceed to pay.
After the transaction succeed, it should send you back to the Thank you page of your website.
Check your Paypal account email address for order detail.
